Chargers outlast Rebels 16-14 in fifth set tiebreaker

  • VERSAILLES — After battling through four complete sets and the regulation portion of a fifth-set tiebreaker, Southwestern and North Decatur volleyball were tied two sets apiece — after scoring exactly 111 points each — and the Rebels were just a single point away from closing out the Chargers and moving on to the championship game of Saturday’s South Ripley Sectional.

Capitalistic Owls deny Cubs 21-12 in regular season finale

  • Madison had opportunities to get its first Hoosier Hills Conference football victory against Seymour. But, in the end, the Owls converted on key plays to hand the Cubs a 21-12 loss on Senior Night at Cub Field. Madison finished the regular season 1-8 and 0-7 in HHC play.
