The event was organized after the death of Rickey Sandusky’s mother, who had a wish for her son to graduate high school. He did graduate following his mother’s death.

  • Swine flu vaccine arrives in Carroll County; hundreds line up to receive first doses in area. A throng of people waits outside the Three Rivers District Health Department in Carrollton to get their dose of the H1N1 flu vaccine on Thursday. The health department had 325 doses available in shot and spray forms. The spray form was given to people between the ages of 2 and 49. Shots were given to other age groups as well as any pregnant women and anyone with breathing problems and allergies.

ENGLISH SCHOOL HOLDS FIRST-EVER REUNION

Coming down Fifth Street in the final stretch of the outhouse race, “Stroker Ace,” representing the Carroll County Public Works, is headed for victory over “Pigs ‘R’ Us,” representing the Carrollton Police Department. Racing for Stroker Ace are Jimmy Luhn, Brandon Luhn, Aaron Ricketts and Alex Contreras. Police department racers are officers Tim Gividen, Justin Doll, Michael Jump and Daniel Embry.

CPD Shop With A Cop Trail Ride

  • This weekend was full of activity as the Carrollton Police Department held its annual fundraiser for Shop With A Cop. The fundraiser, which was a horse trail ride through the county, raised nearly $1,500 for the Christmas charity event and 81 riders participated. Two of the many riders in Saturday’s Shop With A Cop Trail Ride make last-minute adjustments before hitting the trail for a worthy cause.
