Bernardo, who sells sports merchandise and has done so at Old Court Days for several years, said that he is not deterred by the continuing rainfall. “I work hard all year long, but I really depend on a few good weekends,” Bernardo said. “This is hopefully going to be one of those weekends.”

Andrea Davidson opened the River City Rock & Roll Festival at Bicentennial Park on Friday night with a selection of her original songs. The festival was organized by Musicians For All, a group dedicated to raising money to provide musical instruments, equipment and lessons to youngsters who have a financial need. The festival continues today with gates opening at 10 a.m. and live music starting at noon. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for junior high and high school students and free for children 12 and under. CPD Shop With A Cop Trail Ride

This weekend was full of activity as the Carrollton Police Department held its annual fundraiser for Shop With A Cop. The fundraiser, which was a horse trail ride through the county, raised nearly $1,500 for the Christmas charity event and 81 riders participated.
Two of the many riders in Saturday’s Shop With A Cop Trail Ride make last-minute adjustments before hitting the trail for a worthy cause.
