  • James Henthorne of Groundworks Construction works on placing blocks as he and co-workers John Stakelin and Brian Skirvin spent Monday building a curved seating wall at Bicentennial Park. Two seating walls were built last year, but city officials waited to see how drainage and public acceptance worked out before deciding to add the third one. Most of the new wall was finished Monday.

Sitting on the porch is Brandon Stewart who plays Harper’s great grandson. Rivertown director Aaron Kelsey, left, and composer Charles Moman welcomed the audience to the first night of the original two-act musical commissioned and performed for Madison’s Bicentennial.
